The History Channel’s New ‘Vikings’ TV Show With Gabriel Byrne – Trailer And Details

In development since 2011, with Michael Hirst (Camelot, The Tudors) serving as writer and producer, The History Channel‘s new tv series ‘Vikings’ looks like it could be worth the watch.

Travis Fimmel stars as Ragnar, with Gustaf Skarsgard as Floki and the chieftain will be played by Gabriel Byrne.

Here’s the synopsis from The History Channel:

Vikings follows the adventures of Ragnar Lothbrok the greatest hero of his age. The series tells the sagas of Ragnar’s band of Viking brothers and his family, as he rises to become King of the Viking tribes. As well as being a fearless warrior, Ragnar embodies the Norse traditions of devotion to the gods, legend has it that he was a direct descendant of Odin, the god of war and warriors.

The first of ten episodes will air on March 3 at 10 p.m. Check out the opening title sequence and promo trailer below.
